***Please note: the last day for all missing work or current work is due by Friday, June 1st at 4 p.m. Yes, that will include the monologue presentations as well.  All students must give a monologue presentation between the days of Wednesday, 5/30-Friday, 6/1.***

SpringBoard Language Arts Class:
Homework:

Friday, 5/25/12:
Students worked on planning their monolgues.  We'll be practicing next Tuesday with a peer partner.  Then, on Wed-Fri next week, we'll be presenting our monologues to the whole class.  For homework over the weekend, students must gather their props, costumes, and practice their monologue with a parent or guardian.  Parents, please sign a form indicating your student practiced with you over the weekend (see attached form below).

Monday, 5/28/12:
No School--Memorial Day

Tuesday, 5/29/12:
Students practiced and critiqued monologues with a peer partner.  All students must be prepared to present their monologues tomorrow.  We will draw names out of a hat for who will present.

Wednesday, 5/30/12:
Students presented their monologues.

Thursday, 5/31/12:
Students presented their monologues.

Friday, 6/1/12:
Students presented their monologues.

Monday, 6/4/12:
Red House activity/award day!

Tuesday, 6/5/12:
7th grade field trip to Kalahari!

Wednesday, 6/6/12:
Half day--FIELD DAY!

Monday, 5/28/12:
No School--Memorial Day!

Tuesday, 5/29/12:
No Class; students went to the Cafe sponsored by the 8th grade FACE class.

Wednesday, 5/30/12:
Students presented the final chapters for their Jigsaw Hunger Games chapters.

Thursday, 5/31/12:
Students went to the computer lab and took their end of the year Teenbiz levelset assessment to assess their reading level growth for the year.

Friday, 6/1/12:
Students voted on a debatable topic from Hunger Games.  We held a formal debate in our class today.

Monday, 6/4/12:
Red House activitiy/award day!

Tuesday, 6/5/12:
7th grade field trip to Kalahari!

Wednesday, 6/6/12:
Half day--FIELD DAY!


Guided Reading Class:
***Many students need to retake a vocabulary quiz. Please study (study guide attached below).***

Students went to the computer lab to take the teenbiz levelset test to assess their growth in reading for their year.

Wednesday, 5/30/12:
Students wrote a journal response about who they will be "In 50 years...."   They also worked on independent reading.  If needed, students took vocabulary quiz retakes (study guide attached below).

Thursday, 5/31/12:
Students played a vocabulary review game called "Big Wheel."

Friday, 6/1/12:
Students played a vocabulary review game called "Sunken Treasure."

Monday, 6/4/12:
Red House activity/award day!

Tuesday, 6/5/12:
7th grade field trip to Kalahari!
